About the role

Algoo is an app that gives brands a content team: they plan, script and book their videos in it, and an account manager runs every project. As a freelance video editor, you turn their footage into finished short-form videos. Offers that fit your style reach you in the Algoo Team app, you read the full brief before you accept, and your fee is credited when the client approves.

What you’ll do

  • Take offers for short-form videos for Algoo’s brand clients, matched to the video types, industries, styles and skills you apply with.
  • Read the full brief before you accept: the script, the storyboard, how much footage is in, and what the client expects.
  • Pick a 3, 5 or 8-hour delivery and accept. The first editor to accept gets the project.
  • Tap Start editing when you’re ready. Need more footage? Ask in one tap, and your clock pauses until it arrives.
  • Send your cut to your account manager, who checks it privately before the client sees it.
  • Make revisions from the client’s timestamped notes. There are at most three per video.

What you get

  • Offers come to you. No pitching, no cold DMs.
  • The fee for each delivery speed is on the offer before you accept.
  • Your account manager handles the client: the brief, quality checks and approvals.
  • Clients see you only as “Editor”. Your name, profile and number stay private.
  • Your clock starts when you tap Start editing, and pauses while you wait on footage.
  • Revision clocks only run between 9am and 9pm IST.
  • Your fee is credited automatically when the client approves, with a line on how it was worked out.
  • Clients rate finished projects, so every edit builds your track record.
  • Approved reels on the Algoo marketplace pay you each time a brand remixes one.
  • Offers, chats, deadlines and earnings in the Algoo Team app, with a web workspace for the big screen.

What we look for

  • A portfolio of your edits, as public links.
  • Working skill in at least one of Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, CapCut.
  • A style you do well: clean, fast-paced, cinematic, corporate, documentary, trend-led, UGC or podcast.
  • The languages you understand, and any you can caption in.
  • Your own editing setup and a reliable internet connection.
  • No degree needed. Your work matters more than your CV.

How pay works

Every offer shows a fee for 3, 5 and 8-hour delivery. You pick one and accept.

Deliver on time (there’s a 10-minute grace) and your full fee is credited to your Earnings when the client approves. If a cut is late, the fee steps down, and the app tells you exactly why.

You also tell us your expected rate per video when you apply.

Is this a job or freelance work?

Freelance. You choose which offers and shoot requests to take. There are no fixed hours and no salary.

Do I need to live in Vizag?

This hiring drive is for Vizag. Videographers shoot at brands’ locations anywhere in the city, so you need to be here. Editors work online, from their own setup.

How does pay work?

Editors: every offer shows a fee for 3, 5 and 8-hour delivery. Deliver your first cut on time (there’s a 10-minute grace) and the fee you picked is credited when the client approves; a late cut steps down, and the app tells you why. Videographers: every request shows what you’ll earn, paid per booked minute at your city’s rate and credited when your footage reaches the editor.

Who talks to the client?

Editors: your account manager handles the client, and clients see you only as “Editor”. Videographers: you meet the client at the shoot, and they see your first name and photo.

What kit do I need?

Videographers tell us what they shoot with when they apply: flagship phone, mirrorless / DSLR, cinema camera, gimbal, wireless mics, lights, tripod, drone. Editors tell us their software: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, CapCut.

Each account applies on one track. Pick the one you want us to judge you on.

What happens after I apply?

We review your work and email you the decision. If you’re in, the email has a link to set up your account, and then we help you set up the Algoo Team app. If it isn’t a fit yet, the email tells you (with our note, when there is one), and you can change your application and apply again.

Is there a fee to apply?

No. Applying is free, and we will never ask you to pay to join. Apply only at algoo.app.
